Pot Bust in Stone County

By KSPR News

Missouri's annual pot-eradication effort gets underway with a bust in Stone County.

Sheriff's deputies, aided by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, say they spotted pot plants growing in containers behind a home around Blackjack School Road and Ozark Road.

Police say they found about 60 plants in pots around the back of a barn. "The plants were from 2 to 5 feet in height," police say in a news release. "There were paths leading from the residence to the barn and plants."

Another 37 plants were found in the basement of the home, police say.

The home's owner, Charles E. Peters, was arrested in Crane. He's being held on $100,000 bond.
