“No dont think thats a good idea.”
“No.”
“No.”
“I believe God works through the doctors to provide healing.”
“Heck no they don’t. They can hurt themselves but not their kids.”
“No, i believe in prayer but i also believe that prayer doesnt contain ibuprofen or acetaminophen in it. Although god does heal, we need our medicine!”
“I think it depends on how serious the illness is.”
“Yes.” –Kevin
“No i do not believe so give them meds and prayer.” -Kirsten, Marshfield
“As a christian and a healtcare provider, it is rediculous that someone would not take God's gift of medicine and use it for their child. I sometimes wonder if these parents use religion as a sheild to hide behind and simply do not care for their child or have no faith in the science of modern medicine.” –Brittney
“I don't think a parent should withhold medical attention or medicine from their children. I think parents should pray for their children's health needs, but God has already given us doctors and medicine that are a part of the answer to prayer.” –Cindy, Newburg
“You ozarkers have an amazing respect for God especially considering Hes tried to kill you 3 times this year already!”
“Yes. if people have a certain religion they should be allowed to follow it.”
“No parents should not chose prayer over medicine.”
“This is not an option, their heart might have been in the right place, but their brains were nowhere to be found. Medical care should ALWAYS take precidence.
Both parents should be facing severe charges.” –Mark, Springfield
“I dont think any parent should be able to choose prayer over medicine for thier child.”
“God gave us doctors to help us.and god dont want people to let there childeren die.god can heal by faith.”
“I strongly believe that Prayer over medication would be the right of any adult! As long as all were aware that death was the inevitable without medications. I also think that a parent should have the informed choice for their own children and family members. Religious freedom also ends at the point of harm, once a doctor or any other medical professional comes into play and should take steps necessary to save a life.” –Carol, Camden Co.
“The bible teaches..... ‘God helps those that help themselves.’ God gave us the intelligence to make medicine to help ourselves. If we don't use that knowledge, we're refusing Gods gift.” –Dean
“All I have to say is I beleave in God but I also beleave he gave us medicine for a reason.” –Chris
“Parents should do everything to save their children, give them the meds they need & pray! God wants us to do our part too!”
“It always comes down to this.who owns your children, you or the government.”
“I think for some of us Prayer is the only option we have because we lack insurance coverage for our children.” –Viewer from Branson
“Heart in the right place. no. saying that is to feel sorry for the parents. like feeling sorry for driver who speeds through school zone killing a child. parents should have followed the doctors instructions. your child goes into a coma you call 911. this is case of man-slaughter. i have lived with diabetes over 20 years.”
