Branson, Missouri – See award-winning sculptors in action as they attempt to build the world’s largest Titanic sand sculpture from a 15-ton mountain of sand September 20-23, 2007 at The World’s Largest TITANIC Museum Attraction in Branson.
Olympic team sculptor Greg Butauski will lead a group of champion sculptors through the unpredictable task of building a 20-foot long, 8-foot tall Titanic out of sand during this free four-day event. Guests of all ages can get in on the fun by building sand creations of their own at the TITANIC Museum Attraction’s outdoor beach area. Butauski, who is the president of the National Ice Carvers Association and owner of Art The Experience (www.rockonice.com) in Columbus, Ohio, and his team, will be on hand to answer questions and give tips on building sandcastles.
“This will be our first attempt at building the Titanic out of sand,” Butauski said. “As anyone who’s ever tried to build a sandcastle knows, sand is a difficult medium to work with. We are very honored to build the Titanic and hope the sand cooperates that weekend,” he said.
Butauski and his team of sand sculptors will be at the TITANIC Museum Attraction from 10a.m. to 4p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20 – Sunday, Sept. 23. The museum attraction is open from 9a.m. to 9p.m. daily.

The World’s Largest TITANIC Museum Attraction is Branson’s new landmark tourist destination. The 17,000 square foot, ship-shaped structure - built half scale to Titanic’s original size - towers more than 100 feet above its anchored position on Highway 76. A 90-minute, self-guided tour covers 20 galleries on two decks where more than 400 priceless artifacts that once belonged to Titanic’s passengers or crew are on display. None of the artifacts were retrieved from the ocean’s floor.
