Where's the calorie count for chasing a 2 year old for 8 hours a day?
I used to run. I used to do the elliptical machine in my basement. I used to do yoga and from time to time I'd lift weights.
Nowadays I walk up and down the stairs in our house about 30 times a day - who's idea was it to keep the diapers and clothes in the kids rooms upstairs? And why did we buy a house with stairs anyway?
I wrestle with a 33-pound 2 1/2 year old when he doesn't want to get a diaper changed, or take a bath, or get in his chair for each and every meal or wash his hands or get in his car seat or ....
I carry a 12 pound baby girl around on one arm for an average of 4 hours a day ... no wonder I'm leaning to one side.
I do squats while I'm pumping my milk....tmi? sorry.
You'd think with all this activity the weight would be falling off ... it's not. Maybe it's because I'm compensating for my lack of sleep with enough simple carbohydrates to feed a small platoon. I feel tired, I eat. I feel more tired, I eat more. Eating is so much easier than strapping on the running shoes and hitting the pavement. Besides, I'm not sure I have a running bra that would fit.
Isn't it funnny what you stop doing once you have kids, there doesn't seem to be time for anything but working and taking care of the kids. I don't watch tv anymore (except the newscasts), I don't exercise, I don't sleep much, I don't clean the house, I don't cook - although eating sticks around, usually in the form of takeout.
And my husband keeps asking me why I don't get on Facebook. Maybe he'll understand when he reads my blog next week titled "Sex?"
