As his fellow defensive linemen worked through various in-game situations at Ravens' minicamp Tuesday, Haloti Ngata remained mostly on the sidelines. Joe Flacco is no longer barraged with questions about former offensive coordinator Cam Cameron, finding consistency or even his capability to win the big game. Now the owner of one of the richest contracts in the history of the sport and two weeks away from receiving a sparkling Super Bowl ring, Flacco's status as the Ravens' franchise quarterback will probably never be this secure.

SUPER BOWL XLVII

7:33 AM CST, January 11, 2013
RAVENS PASSING GAME: Quarterback Joe Flacco gets an opportunity to avenge one of his worst performances of his season. He completed just 20-of-40 passes in a regular-season loss to the Broncos and threw a costly interception that was returned for a touchdown. Tight end Dennis Pitta was one of the few Ravens who played well in that game, making seven catches for 125 yards and two touchdowns. Look for Flacco to continue to roll out of the pocket and take downfield shots to Torrey Smith and Anquan Boldin.

3:14 PM CST, December 29, 2012
RAVENS PASSING GAME: Quarterback Joe Flacco ended a troubling late-season slump by tearing up the New York Giants last week, throwing for 309 yards and two touchdowns to go along with a rushing score. Perhaps the best development for the Ravens was that Flacco didn't turn the ball over and wasn't sacked. Flacco has won four straight games against the Bengals, throwing five touchdowns during that span. The Ravens are 11 points away from setting a franchise record for most points in a season.
6:26 PM CST, December 31, 2012
All season, the Ravens talked about peaking at the right time. They downplayed their 9-2 start, maintaining that a strong finish to the regular season was what was important. They didn't want to just make the playoffs. They wanted to enter them with momentum, their offense putting up points and their defense putting down quarterbacks.
12:08 PM CST, December 22, 2012
RAVENS PASSING GAME: Struggling Ravens' quarterback Joe Flacco maintains he hasn't lost his confidence even as his late-season slump widens. He has completed more than 60 percent of his passes just once in four games, he hass thrown for under 200 yards in five of his last eight contests and he has committed six turnovers over the last three games. He has also been sacked 13 times over the past four weeks. Wide receiver Anquan Boldin was held without a catch last week for the first time in 107 games.
6:24 PM CST, December 20, 2012
Some form of the question is asked pretty much every time Ray Rice goes behind a microphone or faces reporters. After all, he has to crack at some point, doesn't he?
2:33 PM CST, January 4, 2013
Ray Lewis and Ed Reed probably will always be linked, two longtime friends who have defined the Ravens' defensive dominance. 11:12 PM CST, November 12, 2012
Like most, if not all, NFL teams, the Ravens cling tightly to the tenets of the 24-hour rule, allowing them only one day to celebrate victories while briefly pushing back the arduous task of preparing for the next challenge that lies ahead.
3:03 PM CST, November 8, 2012
Carson Palmer is a couple of years older and is no longer throwing to Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh in their prime. But as the Ravens prepare for Sunday's game against Palmer and the Oakland Raiders, the bad memories have come rushing back for some Ravens.
6:54 PM CST, December 17, 2012
The Ravens' first goal every season is to make it to the playoffs so in that sense, Sunday wasn't as big of a disaster as it once appeared. But the manner in which it happened leaves plenty of questions about whether the Ravens will be able to accomplish their other goals, which go far beyond just qualifying for the postseason.
2:01 PM CST, December 15, 2012
RAVENS PASSING GAME: It will be interesting to see new offensive coordinator Jim Caldwell's influence on the play-calling and game plan. The expectation is that the Ravens will loosen the reins on quarterback Joe Flacco, who feels he's at his best in the no-huddle offense. Flacco threw three first-half touchdowns in last Sunday's loss to the Washington Redskins, but he turned the ball over twice. Wide receiver Torrey Smith has three catches or fewer in four of his past five games.
7:26 PM CST, November 24, 2012
RAVENS PASSING GAME: Quarterback Joe Flacco continues to be an enigma away from M&T Bank Stadium. In five road games, he's completed 54.2 percent of his passes for 883 yards, three touchdowns and four interceptions. In five games at home, his completion percentage is 66.5 to go along with 1,612 yards, 10 touchdowns and three interceptions. In a loss to the Chargers last year, Flacco threw two interceptions and was sacked seven times. He's turned the ball over just once in his past three games.
7:46 PM CST, December 15, 2012
When Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning goes under center Sunday, starts barking out calls and then takes one final glance across the line of scrimmage, what he sees will bear very little resemblance to any Ravens defense he has ever faced.

He has thrown his hands up in the air after a dropped pass, angrily ripped off his helmet after a stalled possession and loudly chastised himself after an errant throw.
12:27 PM CST, November 17, 2012
RAVENS PASSING GAME: Much has been made of quarterback Joe Flacco's struggles on the road, but he's beaten the Steelers with late drives in his last regular season visit to Heinz Field. He's also coming off a four-touchdown (three passing, one rushing) performance against the Oakland Raiders where wide receiver Jacoby Jones and tight ends Dennis Pitta and Ed Dickson returned to the game plan. The pressure will be on tackles Kelechi Osemele and Michael Oher to give Flacco time to throw downfield.
6:40 PM CST, December 5, 2012

1:20 PM CST, November 10, 2012
6:54 PM CST, November 5, 2012
The Ravens' offense has fluctuated so wildly by quarter, never mind one game to the next, that it probably would be foolish to draw any concrete conclusions from one drive.
7:35 PM CST, December 4, 2012
One-by-one, Ravens players said Sunday night that their last-second 23-20 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers wouldn't define their season or deter them from their regular-season goals. However, the defeat, coupled by another significant injury to linebacker Terrell Suggs, has made their already daunting four-game stretch to end the regular season even more difficult.
7:07 PM CST, November 22, 2012
The text messages started rolling in before Corey Graham even had a chance to settle in front of his locker late Sunday night following the finest game of his NFL career.
8:31 PM CDT, November 3, 2012

5:49 PM CDT, October 19, 2012
Ravens running back Ray Rice has been an advocate for pro-kindness and anti-bullying efforts, held summer camps for kids in Baltimore and his hometown of New Rochelle, N.Y., and helped students in Baltimore get fit. Those are just several of the reasons why he received the third Tim Wheatley Award for Community Service Friday at the Under Armour Performance Center.
10:38 PM CST, November 17, 2012
Most of the characteristics that have defined what many consider the best rivalry in football remain unchanged. Make no mistake, the Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers still don't like each other.

4:16 PM CDT, October 31, 2012
Perhaps, Terrell Suggs will eventually find the time to deliver the "I told you so's." Perhaps, the Ravens' normally loquacious linebacker will eventually detail his remarkably quick recovery from a torn right Achilles tendon, and concede that he had doubts that he would be able to play meaningful football this season.
7:56 PM CDT, October 27, 2012
Torrey Smith was convinced that Anquan Boldin was still in the building. He didn't see him in the Ravens' locker room, but he heard his voice, first coming from the equipment area and then from the training room. But as Smith pulled on his uniform and prepared for a recent practice, Boldin's voice became more distant.
6:46 PM CDT, October 22, 2012
A day after his team gave up the most points and suffered the largest margin of defeat in his five seasons as Ravens' head coach, John Harbaugh took accountability for Sunday's 44-13 loss to the Houston Texans and vowed to consider changes with his inconsistent offense.
8:28 PM CDT, October 20, 2012
The Houston Texans lost their top tackler two weeks ago when middle linebacker Brian Cushing went down with a season-ending knee injury. A week later, they were embarrassed by the Green Bay Packers, 42-24, on their home field as Aaron Rodgers threw six touchdown passes, the Texans couldn't run the football and their special teams faltered.
4:23 PM CDT, October 29, 2012
After spending the bye week meeting with coaches and reviewing every aspect of the Ravens' play through the first seven games, coach John Harbaugh said there are no plans to make "wholesale changes" before Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns, and acknowledged that there isn't a simple fix to the team's road woes.

Since the season began, Ravens outside linebacker Terrell Suggs has kept a relatively low profile as he rehabbed his surgically-repaired right Achilles. He strolled through the locker room on occasion, saying very little and declining to update his status with reporters.
2:00 PM CDT, October 6, 2012
The numbers look odd and reversed — even after just four weeks, even with Terrell Suggs out and a new up-tempo offense in. These are the Ravens, after all, a franchise where a dominant defense and underwhelming offense have meshed successfully for years.
5:32 PM CDT, October 11, 2012

If he ever needs a reminder during the hours in between, another copy hangs in Pollard's locker, next to pictures of his wife and two kids.
2:10 PM CDT, October 22, 2012
To a man, the Ravens insist that they don't have an explanation for why the team's offense has played so well at home and so poorly on the road. And as second-year wide receiver Torrey Smith wisely pointed out, if the Ravens knew the cause of the maddening inconsistency, they'd have it fixed by now.
8:09 PM CDT, October 13, 2012
Jason Garrett was the hot coaching candidate who had everything the Ravens were seeking. He was a former NFL quarterback, Ivy League-educated and groomed in a football family. RAVENS PASSING GAME: What will quarterback Joe Flacco do for an encore? A week after lighting up the Cincinnati Bengals in one of the best performances of his career, Flacco brings the Ravens' suddenly explosive offense to Lincoln Financial Field, a short drive from where he grew up. Eight players caught passes in the Ravens' opener, led by tight end Dennis Pitta. Flacco figures to get far less time to operate against a fast and aggressive Eagles defense.
2:25 PM CDT, September 26, 2012
RAVENS PASSING GAME: The Ravens weren't kidding when they talked about revving up their passing attack in quarterback Joe Flacco's fifth season. Flacco is currently second in the NFL in passing yards (913) and tied for fifth in touchdowns (six). Flacco has never lost to the Browns in eight tries and Thursday night he'll face a shaky secondary, looking to improve on a career 94.4 quarterback rating against Cleveland. Flacco used all of his weapons in a 31-30 victory over the New England Patriots last Sunday, completing passes to eight different guys. Mostly quiet this season, wide receiver Anquan Boldin has 300 yards receiving and three touchdowns in five career games versus the Browns. The Ravens' offensive line has exceeded early outside expectations, allowing five sacks in three games.

RAVENS RUN OFFENSE VS. RAMS RUN DEFENSE: The Rams' rush defense is last in the NFL, having surrendered an average of 177.5 yards. St. Louis could be the ideal opponent for the Ravens to reestablish their running game, which was ineffective last week in the loss to the Tennessee Titans. To get Ray Rice going, the Ravens will have to account for Rams middle linebacker James Laurinaitis, who made 14 tackles last week and led the Rams with 129 tackles last season. Veteran defensive tackle Fred Robbins' main responsibility is occupying blockers and keeping them off Laurinaitis. The return of guard Ben Grubbs would certainly be a nice boost for the Ravens. If he remains out with a toe injury, the Ravens could start Mark LeVoir, who got the call last week, or use Andre Gurode. The Ravens have averaged 107.5 yards on the ground, 12th in the NFL
8:45 PM CST, January 14, 2012
Joe Flacco says that he doesn't hear much of the criticism. He abstains from reading about the Ravens in the local papers. 2:58 PM CDT, September 17, 2011
RAVENS RUN OFFENSE VS. TITANS RUN DEFENSE: The Titans worked out six defensive linemen Tuesday as injuries and ineffectiveness have taken a toll on a unit they hoped would be improved after several offseason additions. In their season-opening 16-14 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Titans allowed 163 rushing yards. The Jaguars' game-opening 11-play touchdown drive featured nine runs totaling 49 yards. Defensive ends Derrick Morgan and Jason Jones, who both missed the opener with knee injuries, are back, so that could help stabilize a run defense that finished 20th in the NFL last season. But after rushing for 170 yards against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Ravens feel that they can run the ball against anybody. An offensive line that didn't play together the entire preseason exceeded the most optimistic expectations last week, and the additions of left tackle Bryant McKinnie and fullback Vonta Leach paid immediate dividends in front ofRay Rice.
