United Airlines flight destined for KCI lands at SGF

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - A United Airlines flight on its way from Chicago to Kansas City made an emergency landing in Springfield on Wednesday afternoon after the jet ran low on fuel. A thunderstorm was over Kansas City International Airport at the time.

United Airlines flight 628 left Chicago at 12:22 and was supposed to land at KCI at 2:02. Instead, it landed without incident at Springfield - Branson National Airport at 2:30, according to online flight tracking web sites.
