FORSYTH, Mo. – Taney County Sheriff Jimmie Russell says a man died at a hospital in the last week after being stabbed at a gas station. Russell said the prosecuting attorney concluded the stabbing was self-defense, meaning the stabber won’t be charged.

Russell said in an email message on Tuesday morning that the stabbing was at Pump 30 in Forsyth on June 28.

“The hospital notified us that he has died now but we do not know at this time what the cause of death is,” Russell said in the email message.

Russell said he didn’t know if all of the man’s family has been notified of his death, so he asked that the victim’s name not be released.
