NIXA, Mo. -- Nixa firefighters were fighting a brush fire just south of Nixa off U.S. 160 late Monday afternoon. Smoke may reduce visibility for drivers in that area.

Drew Douglas, a spokesman for the City of Nixa, said no structures were in danger, as of 4 p.m., but smoke was pouring across U.S. 160. He suggested drivers might want to slow down while driving through the smoke.
