Henry County Sheriff's Dept.

CLINTON, Mo. -- Police say a son shot his mother in the neck while she was driving down a Clinton, Missouri road.

It happened Wednesday afternoon near the intersection of Second Street and Ohio. Police say Vickie Rae Quimby, 61, of El Dorado Springs stated her son, Thomas Iseman, 27, of El Dorado Springs had shot her in the neck. Quimby is expected to recover from the gunshot wound.

Police say the two began an argument in the front seat of the car. The bullet traveled through her neck, then through the driver's side window. It lodged in the front of a home in the 300 block of East Ohio. Police later found the handgun in a drain.

Police say Iseman described the shooting as accidental, only shooting the gun to scare her. Police say they also found a controlled substance on Iseman. He faces charges of armed criminal action and a felon in the possession of a gun. A judge set the bond at $100,000.
