NIXA, Mo. (KY3) An employee of the Walmart in Nixa is now charged in connection to a suspicious package investigation.

The Christian County prosecutor charged Arif R. Rahman, 33, of Nixa with making a terrorist threat. Rahman is being held in the Christian County jail on a $20,000 bond. The investigation revealed that Rahman placed the suspicious looking item in a place where it did not belong with the intent to scare someone.

Shoppers and employees were ordered to evacuate the store around 10:00 a.m. Saturday after an employee discovered a black box with zip ties and two blinking lights on a shelf in a back stock room. Investigators determined that the package did not contain an explosive, but wouldn't go into detail about what was inside. The store was allowed to reopen at 12:30 p.m.

Nixa police, Christian County deputies, Nixa firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the scene along with the Springfield Fire Dept. Regional Bomb Squad.
