National Weather Service extends Winter Weather Advisory into Sunday

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Here comes another weekend of winter weather watching in the Ozarks.

The National Weather Service issued a Winter Weather Advisory beginning at midnight through 9 a.m Saturday. It includes Barton, Benton (Mo.), Camden, Cedar, Dade, Dallas, Douglas, Greene, Henry, Hickory, Howell, Jasper, Laclede, Lawerence, Maries, McDonald, Miller, Morgan, Newton (Mo.), Oregon, Ozark, Phelps, Polk, Pulaski, Shannon, St. Clair, Taney, and Vernon Counties. In Arkansas, it includes Benton (Ark.), Carroll, Madison and Washington Counties.

Freezing drizzle is expected to develop again in the Ozarks. A second round of a wintry mix of freezing drizzle, light freezing rain, light sleet, and light snow is expected to develop late Saturday afternoon and into Sunday morning.
