SPRINGFIELD, Mo. An Ozarks hospital pharmacist says vitamin patches are scams.
Mercy Hospital Pharmacist, Terry Barks, thinks vitamin patches are a waste of your money. He said you are better off actually taking vitamins.
“Patches are a good medication delivery form – just not for vitamins. They are good for bypassing the GI Tract, if necessary, because of medical conditions. They can avoid people having to receive injections. They avoid the high peaks and low troughs of oral dosing,” Barks said.
Barks said your skin just will not absorb the vitamins. But, as always before you try something new, talk to your doctor.
Barks also suggests sticking with just vitamins or vitamins and minerals.
He also recommends you do not combine them with herbal supplements.
