Leigh's Lost and Found: featuring a lost black Shep/Heeler mix

In today's Leigh's Lost and Found report, we're featuring what looks like a small black shepherd with big amounts of energy.

"She certainly acts like a puppy, she's very playful. She's in with a couple of puppies at the shelter and they get along swimmingly, playing around with each other."

But this girl is not a puppy, according to shelter coordinator Josh Doss. He says the Shepherd, possibly Heeler mix, is about three to four years old.

Someone found her running on east Division and brought her to animal control. She did have a tattered leather collar on at the time but that's it, no chip or tag.

Josh says she's been at the shelter for almost two weeks now with no calls about someone looking for her, but based on her social skills, he does think she has a home.

"She's in okay condition. She's a little on the thin side but she's very energetic so it might just be she runs off her energy."

If you recognize our featured dog, or if you've lost a pet, you can call animal control at 833-3592. You can also visit their website to see pictures of all the animals currently there and to fill out an online lost pet form.

Another great resource is the Leigh's Lost and Found facebook page. Anyone can post a lost or found animal on there, so be sure to like the page and share it with your friends.
