Leigh's Lost and Found: featuring a lost Springer Spaniel mix

In today's Leigh's Lost and Found report, we're featuring a beautiful spaniel mix found at someone's front door.

"Somebody found her, she walked up to their door. They thought they might know where her home was but they couldn't give us an address and we have not heard anything from anybody since that time."

Animal control believes the female dog is a Springer Spaniel mix of some type and is between two and four years old.

She was wandering loose in a neighborhood in the 800 block of south Eastland. She was wearing a brown collar but didn't have any tags or chip.

They found her a week ago when it was warmer outside but during this cold weather snap, animal control says it's best to do what we did when she came to the TV station. Bring your dog inside.

"Dogs getting loose now, unless they're like Eskimo dogs or Huskies, they won't do very well in this weather."

If you recognize our featured dog, or if you've lost a pet, you can call animal control at 833-3592. You can also visit their website to see pictures of all the animals there and to fill out an online lost pet form.
