Leigh's Lost and Found: featuring a lost Lab/Terrier mix

In today's Leigh's Lost and Found report, our featured lost dog wandered off while trying to make a new friend.

"She was found when she followed a child home from the school bus in the 3400 block of south Kickapoo. Unfortunately, the family already has two dogs of their own and couldn't take her in. But she was very playful and followed him all the way home."

Animal control is calling the female dog a Lab/Hound/Terrier mix of some sort. Shelter coordinator Josh Doss says she's still young, about two to three years old.

She's super friendly around both people and animals. She also had a collar on when she was found, but unfortunately, no tags or chip.

Josh says it's almost certain she has a home somewhere.

"She's well taken care of so somebody is missing her. But we haven't heard from anyone yet about her and it's been since the ninth that she's been with us."

If you recognize our featured dog, or if you've lost a pet, you can call animal control at 833-3592. You can also visit their website to see pictures of all the animals currently there and to fill out an online lost pet form.
