Leigh's Lost and Found: featuring a lost Lab/Hound puppy

In today's Leigh's Lost and Found report, we're featuring what animal control calls an odd looking dog that could be any number of mixes.

"We think he's a Labrador and hound mix. He's kind of an odd dog. He's very tall and skinny but we think it's probably those two in him."

This guy is just a pup, animal control is guessing between 10 and 12 months old. Someone found him running loose with no collars, tag or microchip in a Springfield neighborhood on October 28 and brought him in to the shelter.

He is definitely full of energy and very social with people and other animals so shelter coordinator Josh Doss doesn't think he's just a stray.

He is pretty underweight, but Josh says that doesn't necessarily mean he doesn't have an owner.

"it's probably because he's so young. He probably has been going through a growth spurt. But that said, it looks like he might have been on the road for awhile. He's very thin."

If you recognize our featured dog, or if you've lost a pet, you can call animal control at 833-3592. You can also visit their website to see pictures of all the animals currently there and to fill out an online lost pet form.

Another great resource is the Leigh's Lost and Found facebook page. Anyone can post a lost/found animal on there so be sure to like the page and share it with your friends.
