Leigh's Lost and Found: featuring a lost Cattle dog/Husky mix

In today's Leigh's Lost and Found report, we're heading to the 800 block of south New, where this dog was found last week.

It's hard to tell unless you look really closely in the corner of her right eye, but she has a condition that makes her pretty distinctive.

"It's called Heterochromia. It means she has one eye that has a little bit of blue in it mixed with brown and the other eye is totally brown."

Animal control believes this female dog is a Cattle dog mixed with a Husky or possibly Shepherd. Shelter coordinator Josh Doss says she's about three to four years old.

She's a little on the thin side at 43 pounds so she may have been on the loose for awhile. She's timid at first with new people and wasn't a huge fan of our camera, but she warms up pretty quickly and is a very sweet and loving dog.

If you recognize today's featured dog, or you've lost a pet, you can call animal control at 417-833-3592. You can also visit their website to see pictures of all the animals currently there, and to fill out an online lost pet form.

Another great resource is the Leigh's Lost and Found facebook page. Anyone can post a lost or found animal on there so be sure to like the page and share it with your friends.
