Leigh's Lost and Found: featuring a lost Fox hound

In today's Leigh's Lost and Found, it's easy to tell our lost dog is a hound mix of some sort, meant to chase things down.

"He's very determined to go search out things and wants to sniff around."

He's not very big but this Fox hound, possible Tree Walking hound is very strong when he wants to explore.

Someone found him on November 30 in the 1600 block of north Engle. Shelter coordinator Josh Doss says he's about two to three years old and despite his energy, his temperament is very calm and sweet.

He hasn't been fixed and Josh says that may be why he got loose in the first place and may have been on the run for several weeks.

"He is pretty skinny so we think he might have been on his own for awhile. But then again, he's not eating much at the shelter so he's not been gaining weight."

If you recognize our featured dog, or if you've lost a pet, you can call animal control at 417-833-3592. You can also visit their website to see pictures of all the animals currently there and to fill out an online lost pet form.
