SPRINGFIELD, Mo. The three major airlines that serve the Springfield-Branson National Airport are taking steps to help travelers in advance of the weekend winter storm.
United Airlines, American Airlines and Delta airlines have all issued travel waiver alerts for flyers who will fly to or from Springfield. The waiver allows travelers to change to alternate flights without paying a change fee.
The National Weather Service in Springfield predicts freezing rain will begin in Springfield late Thursday night and continue into Friday. The airport said there are too many variables involved to predict how many flights may be affected.
