Crash knocks out traffic lights, leads to second crash at Springfield intersection

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Police say a crash near Missouri State University knocked out the traffic lights, leading to a second crash.

The first crash involved two cars. One car smashed into an electrical box, knocking out the power to the lights. Police say that led to a second crash involving a van and a Springfield Schools school bus. Only one student was on that bus. Nobody was seriously hurt in either crash.

Officers directed traffic as crews worked to restore power.
