SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- For 81 years, the Ozark Empire Fair has been a time for community celebration, and 2017 promises to carry on the tradition.
The ten day run of “Summer’s Biggest Party” is packed full of FREE thrilling entertainment ranging from musical performers, to the Timberworks Lumberjacks, Discovery Center STEM interactive display, to our favorite Australian Horseman Guy McLean, Hypnotist Catherine Hickland and so much more!

Making their first appearance at the Ozark Empire Fair are the Timberworks Lumberjacks. Watch as their competitors tackle the near impossible in the Olympics of the Forest Show. The attraction offers spectators a unique blend of logging history and world class competition in seven events including hot saw, axe throw, logrolling, speed pole climbing and more!
Australian Horseman, Entertainer and Poet Guy McLean will win over crowds with more than just his accent at the Ozark Empire Fair. Guy’s method of horse training will be on full display as he wows and entertains the crowd.
Cow Town USA offers fairgoers the unique hands-on opportunity to learn how to milk a real cow and learn about the foods cows help us produce. Plus, see how butter, ice cream, soap and cheese are made.
You may best know her as Lindsay Rappaport from the soap opera One Life to Live, but Catherine Hickland brings her hypnosis talents to the Ozark Empire Fair. Known as the only Celebrity Hypnotist, Hickland will entertain the crowds with her hilarious comedy hypnosis show.
The Discovery Center of Springfield brings a STEM Exhibit which lets you take your mind on a thrilling exploration of the sciences by providing entertaining, hands-on adventures for all ages. The experience is located in the E*Plex Center Hall and is brought to you by KY3.
The Hedrick Exotic Animal Farm returns with their exotic animal petting zoo and camel rides plus add a must see attraction to the 2017 lineup… the “World’s Smallest Horse”.
Free entertainment continues with three music stages. Watch for your favorite local band to take the Palen Music Stage next to Guest Services, or the Free Stage, as well as the Meyer’s Communication Karaoke Stage. You also won’t want to miss the daily parade through the fairgrounds.
Join in the AGventure fun! Here’s a summer camp your kids won’t want to miss… Dig into AGventure Camp is a daily program during the fair which help kids learn where their food comes from and the importance of agriculture in southwest Missouri. While at the fair, don’t forget to visit the livestock barns. Walk through and see some of the best cattle, sheep, hogs, goats, chickens, rabbits, and horses from the southwest Missouri area and beyond. Just south of the Arena, travel back in time at the Antique Tractor and Farm Equipment Show. A show you won’t want to miss is the Garden Tractor and Mini Rod Pull on Monday in the Corwin Arena.
Stop by the Annex to visit the AGventure in the Barnyard and see young farm animals up close. Don’t forget to visit the FFA Exhibit Building near the arena and the Conservation Building on the west end of the grounds. Next journey to the E*Plex East Hall where you will find the “Live Local” marketplace stocked with local fruits and vegetables as well other goods produced or made in the area.
Before you complete the tour of the East Hall, stroll through the Life and Arts and 4-H exhibits, a favorite of many fairgoers. Take in aisles of photographs to see some of the most breathtaking images from talented youth and adults in addition to woodcarvers, quilts, produce, flowers, paintings and more. Demonstrations and live contests will appear on the stage throughout the day as well as local celebrity chefs preparing their best dishes on the cooking stage. The E*Plex is the perfect place to beat the heat with the family during the afternoon hours before you venture outside to enjoy the carnival or head to a performance out in the grandstand.
Come out and ride with the Wade Shows Carnival! The midway will operate each day from 1pm through midnight except on opening day when the rides and carnival games begin at 4pm.
