Leigh Moody

Leigh Moody began at KSPR in December 2010.  She anchors KSPR News at 4, 6 and 10.


Previously, she anchored at Bay News 9 in Tampa, Florida for almost ten years.

Leigh grew up in an Air Force family and has lived all over the country but spent most of her childhood in the Tampa Bay area.

Leigh's broadcasting career has taken her from Florida, to South Carolina, to Michigan and back again. After earning her B.A. in broadcast journalism from the University of Central Florida, Leigh joined the reporting staff of WKMG-TV in Orlando.


From there, she moved on to become weekend anchor at WCSC-TV in Charleston, SC, then main anchor at WEYI-TV in Flint, MI before joining Bay News 9.


While at WCSC, Leigh won an Associated Press award for investigative reporting. She earned another A.P. award at WEYI for excellence in reporting hard news.


Leigh is a passionate animal advocate and spends a lot of her free time volunteering and doing personal appearances for animal charities. She also has a large brood of her own to take care of at home, including four cats and a dog, all of them rescues or strays.
