Lauren Matter

Set your alarm clocks a little earlier! That's what Lauren will be doing as she now anchors KSPR News This Morning from 5-7am. She started at KSPR in May 2011 as the anchor for KSPR News Saturday and Sunday nights.

Lauren became a newsie back in middle school. She anchored the morning announcements on LMS-TV and it stuck with her. Years later, she was accepted into the Journalism School at the University of Colorado where she graduated with a double degree in Broadcast News and Studio Arts.

Before coming to KSPR, Lauren was the morning anchor for the FOX-affiliate in Evansville, Indiana and an anchor/reporter for the CBS-affiliate in Abilene, Texas. Lauren also interned for the ABC-affiliate in Denver, Colorado and was an on-air intern at KACT-TV in Aurora, Colorado.

A Colorado native, Lauren and her family loves calling the Ozarks home. When she's not waking up "dark and early," you'll find her spending time outdoors, going to hot yoga, catching up on a good book or exploring Springfield. She also loves to get involved in the community. She is on the advisory board of the Regional Girls Shelter in Springfield and a big sister with Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks.

Lauren is married to her high school sweetheart Laryen. They live in Springfield with their dogs Indie and Tyson.

Do you have a story idea? She'd love to hear it! Send Lauren an email or drop her a note on Facebook or Twitter.
