Jonah Kaplan, KSPR News

Jonah Kaplan, KSPR News

Originally from Philadelphia, Jonah loves the culture, character and pride of the Ozarks.

Jonah joined KSPR in July 2010 as a Multimedia Journalist, though these days you can really call him a "Multi-dimensional Journalist." Jonah frequently reports out in the field, but he's also called upon to anchor news, sports and even forecast the weather.

Jonah’s professional journey has taken him through positions in news and sports, including ESPN, NBC News London and on Capitol Hill.  His other sports credentials include stints with the NHL’s Boston Bruins, NBA’s New Jersey Nets, and NBA TV at the NBA Finals.

But while sports is one of Jonah’s favorite hobbies (he’s a huge Eagles, Phillies, Flyers and 76ers fan), broadcast news has always been his number one focus.  To Jonah, a journalist’s responsibilities serve an integral role to enhancing the goodwill and nature of society, and he looks forward to meeting you and sharing your stories with the community.  Feel free to contact him at anytime at jkaplan@kspr.com.

Outside the newsroom, you can find Jonah playing hockey at Mediacom Ice Park or leading Sabbath services at United Hebrew Congregation in Joplin or Temple Beth El in Jefferson City.  Jonah also enjoys playing tennis, listening to the Dave Matthews Band, and exchanging movie lines with his brother, Rafe, a soldier in the Israel Defense Forces.

Jonah is an Emmy-nominated and award winning journalist. He graduated with honors from Boston University’s College of Communication in 2008.
