Emily is happy to be back in Springfield. She considers the Queen City a second home after spending four years here to get her degree. She graduated from Missouri State University with a broadcast journalism major and a crime and society minor. She then moved on to the capitol where she produced the Morning Show for KRCG in Jefferson City. Then, she got her feet wet as a one-man band crime reporter in St. Joseph, Missouri. She’s interned in newsrooms at KMBC in Kansas City and our sister station KY3 since she was seventeen.

Emily grew up in the Kansas City area with what she calls a “Brady Bunch” family. She has three sisters, two step brothers. She’s a die hard Chiefs fan and a loyal Royals fan. She enjoys watching movies, documentaries and going to concerts. She also claims to be a trivia buff but will admit she’s lost a few trivia games.

Emily covers more than a crime or an event but takes the time to personalize each story and looks beyond the headline. She loves digging through documents to find a story that no one else has.
