Doug first moved to Springfield in 2001, when he started at Missouri State University - still SMSU to him. After graduation he started his career in news working at WFTX, a FOX affiliate in Naples, Fl. He stayed for 6 months before returning to the Ozarks in July of 2005.

Doug was honored as the regional television "photographer of the year" in 2007 and 2008 by the National Press Photographers' Association. He also won other regional awards, including an Emmy.

Doug is from Florissant, Missouri. Now he lives in Springfield with his partner. When not at work, Doug is an avid runner and baker. Before getting into news, Doug spent five years as a professional cake decorator.
