Craig Carnesi joined the KSPR team in January 2009.
Craig is proud to be a member of the KSPR Storm Vision Weather team. He brings over 14 years of broadcasting experience to KSPR. Craig is a member of the National Weather Association and the American Meteorological Society. Craig holds the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist seal from the AMS. The CBM was started in January 2005 and is an upgrade to the AMS Seal of Approval which Craig also holds.
Craig comes to KSPR after forecasting along Hurricane Alley in Wilmington, NC. During his time in the Tar Heel State Craig was honored with the Associated Press Best Weather award. He was also named Best Weathercaster by the Radio Television News Directors Association of the Carolinas.
Craig has plenty of experience forecasting severe weather as well. Prior to moving to North Carolina Craig was the chief meteorologist in Abilene, TX in tornado alley. During his time in West Central Texas Craig not only forecasted tornadic storms but also was an active chaser and storm spotter. He is excited to have the opportunity to use those skills once again.
Also during his time in Abilene Craig met his best friend and love of his life Sara. Sara and Craig married in the bride's hometown of St. Louis.
